Our brains are like a computer that is hardwired into our bodies and just like our computers that need to be rebooted from time to time we can benefit from a reboot ourselves.
Here are a few ways to reboot your nervous system when you are in a state of overwhelm and are seeking calm and clarity.
- Take a seat at your kitchen table or desk at work and rest your head on your folded hands for 6 slow deep breaths.
- Lay down on the floor and place your legs up the wall so your body is in an L shape and take 6 slow deep breaths.
- Acupressure rings can be valuable in calming and rebooting the nervous system. If you have an acupressure ring it can be useful to move the ring up and down a finger for about 30 seconds or until there is a warm, tingly feeling and then move on to the next finger and repeat until you feel calm.
